Hello everyone. In anticipation for the arrival of a new Dragon Ball animated series, Dragon Ball Super and an accompanying comic both being worked on and created by the series creator, Akira Toriyama. So in all of the excitement I wanted to talk about one of the best Dragon Ball fan webcomic series I have read so far and that is Dragon Ball Multiverse.

Dragon Ball Multiverse is a joint creation between Salagir, the writer for the series and Gogeta Jr who is the series cartooinst and does all the artwork. These two somehow manage to put out a steady stream of content three times a week. Not only that the series itself manages to capture the spirit of the Dragon Ball series in both its art direction and it’s writing.

The characters in Dragon Ball Multiverse act like just like you would expect them to. It’s as if you’re reading a proper continuation of the Dragon Ball series itself. Which is what really helps it stand out. Dragon Ball Multiverse truly captures the essence of Akira Toriyama’s work with one of this series biggest strengths being the sense of humor. All throughout the series we see not call backs to other events that took place within the Dragon Ball Universe but also cameos from other Akira Toriyama’s works or characters he has created such as Crono from Chrono Trigger and Arale Norimaki from Dr.Slump. What you end up getting a series that feels more like a love letter to Dragon Ball and Akira Toriyama’s various other works than fan-fiction.

Don’t know who Mary Sue is though.

The story of Dragon Ball Multiverse takes place after the events of Dragon Ball Z. The creators of Dragon Ball Multiverse consider it as more of a sequel to Dragon Ball Z. From this series we get to see how a lot of the characters have moved on since the end of the original series. Another thing to note is that the creators have said that do not and will not acknowledge Dragon Ball GT as cannon. Though some characters like Pan and Bra do make an appearance in the series. The plot of Dragon Ball Multiverse sees a lot of the characters from the original series enter an interdimensional tournament hosted the Gods (except Beerus).
